Importance of Shape in Scientific Vastu

Scientific Vastu takes into consideration shape as an important factor. Shape can only be understood from a three dimensional perspective. For example, if you take a rectangle from a two dimensional shape the feel is different from a cuboid which is a rectangle in a 3D perspective.

Let us understand we are in a cuboid. We will observe in a cuboid that two walls meet at a right angle, the walls and the ceiling too meet at right angle, the walls and the floor are also sharing a right angle. A perfect cuboid has equal angles all around. The movement of energy whatsoever, light energy, sound energy, wind energy, moves at a constant pace, turns at equated angles and therefore finds a space of movement which is more constant, balanced and stable.

On the contrary, if we are into a room which is triangular in shape we find will find a more dramatic and dynamic flow of energy inside the room. If one faces the pointed side of the room, we will find stress. It is important to understand that Scientific Vastu considers whatever we construct from a perspective of output or impact on the occupants. It takes into consideration how do people perceive shapes and get affected by their impacts.

There are two ways of learning, one is experiential and other is experimental. When one is in a triangular shaped room, one may go through many experiences. Second way of learning is through experimental ways where one experiments through instruments and understands the impact on life.

When we are in a triangular room we observe that it has a different impact than a circular and rectangular room. The more sensitive a person is the higher would be the impact of the room or the shape of the room. It has been found that squares and rectangles are very stable shapes especially when we are inside these cuboids. They give us a very stable mind, relaxed environment and able to generate a restful environment.

Since square and rectangles are good shapes, most of the angles recommended are 90 degree and if there are any cut and extensions or angular drifts, they play a vital role in movement of energy. Scientific Vastu takes into consideration shape of the plot, shape of the building, shape of the rooms and even the room of the furniture. Angles also play an important role not just in designing Vastu friendly buildings but also Vastu friendly objects and their effect on the human mind.

There are many shapes which are considered auspicious and good, whereby there are shapes which have not been considered good.  This selection is done on basis of impact these shapes have on human mind. Rectangle and squares have been widely accepted, admired and used. Generally a square is highly preferred which has a ratio of 1:1. 1:1 means if the length of the house is 100 feet, the width is 100. The second preferred shape is a rectangle, where the proportion should minimum be 1/8thmore than the square. That means if the length or width of the building is 40 feet, then depth should be minimum 45, but this ratio can go up to 1:2, that is if the front is 40 feet, so starting from 45 feet depth it could go to 80 feet. So ratio from 1:1-1:2 is suggested. Ratio of 1:1.61 which is a golden mean rectangle ratio has also been suggested. Golden mean rectangle plays a vital role because it relates with human mind. It is observed that people subconsciously appreciate it.
